books books everywhere
I went to the library, I went to the ebook store, and I went on a paperbackswap ordering extravangza. Here are my to-read and currently-reading selections, in no particular order:
The Forest of Hands and Teeth It has zombies. Nuff said.
Shadowheart Laura Kinsale is revered by quite a few in the romance reading and blogging community. I finally decided to bite the bullet and give one a try....

book review: the aud torvingen trilogy
The Blue Place by Nicola Griffith rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this book is to read. Normally, I’m not into the suspense/mystery genre, but Griffith builds more of a noir feeling, a la James Ellroy, than the typical whodunnit bestsellers. The descriptive language is much more lush and lyrical than Ellroy, but I found it just as evocative and...

book review: kiss me deadly
Kiss Me Deadly by Michele Hauf
2 of 5 stars.
Somewhat predictable vampire paranormal— I mean, giant alpha vampire males with tattoos, long silken hair, and clad in black leather? I have so been there. I liked the idea of the love spell as romantic agent but I don’t think Hauf brings the heat the way JR Ward or Lara Adrian do. I’m not feeling the romance or the passion...
book review: his lady mistress
His Lady Mistress by Elizabeth Rolls
rating: 3 of 5 stars
Either on Dear Author or Smart Bitches— Someone said they would read the most predictable of plots if the characters and the relationship were great. Amazon FAIL
Amazon = SUPER FAIL.
They’ve delisted LGBTQ, erotica, and other so-called “adult content” from their search results because of its “adult”, uh, “content”. Except by “adult content” they pretty much mean anything GAY and some hetero erotica.
So, I’m google bombing their asses.

book review: king dork
King Dork by Frank Portman
rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this book! I loved it so much, I would so marry this book, if it were possible.
The book jacket and some reviews I read led me to believe this was a YA mystery novel, but really, this is a coming-of-age memoir about what its like to be a teenage boy at the very bottom of the high school social order. However, unlike many first-person...
Hitler's Mein Kampf on Goodreads →
I actually guffawed while reading some of the reader’s reviews. Every other person points out how not a Nazi they are while awkwardly assigning stars for the memoir’s “historical worth”.
