From Think Progress:

The Ugandan parliament is currently considering an “Anti-Homosexuality Bill,” under which any person “convicted of gay sex is liable to life imprisonment.” If that person is HIV positive or has sex with a minor or a person with a disability, he or she would be guilty of “aggravated homosexuality” and face the death penalty. The bill also proposes up to three years of imprisonment for anyone who “fails to report within 24 hours the identities of everyone they know who is lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender, or who supports human rights for people who are.” The bill would even “apply to Ugandans who commit homosexual offences, but who live overseas.” There are approximately 500,000 gay men and women living in Uganda

Pastor Rick Warren — whom President Obama controversially chose to deliver the invocation at his inauguration — is now refusing to condemn Bahati’s bill, which has been endorsed by Ugandan pastor Martin Ssempa. Ssempa has been welcomed by Warren’s family and made appearances at his church. Newsweek reports that although Warren has distanced himself from Ssempa’s views, he won’t come out against the Anti-Homosexuality Bill:

The fundamental dignity of every person, our right to be free, and the freedom to make moral choices are gifts endowed by God, our creator. However, it is not my personal calling as a pastor in America to comment or interfere in the political process of other nations.

On Meet the Press yesterday, Warren reiterated, “As a pastor, my job is to encourage, to support. I never take sides.” He has, however, said that abortion is a “holocaust” and pushed for the passage of California’s Prop. 8.

From Wonkette:

Dim-bulb Dana Perino was doing jello shots at a frat party in 2001, so it’s no great surprise she doesn’t remember the 9/11 attacks on America. And the producers of Fox News could give a shit what anybody says on the air, as long as the subtext is racism.

But still, an actual George W. Bush White House spokesperson saying, clearly, that there were no TERRORIST ATTACKS ON AMERICA during Bush’s presidency, and nobody bats an eye? Oh, Fox News, have you fallen out of love with September 11?

To be honest, the only reason I “watch” (read a book while ladyfriend watches) Heroes is for the awesome episode recaps on i09.com:

Which brings me to the one point of light in my otherwise dreary TV existence. Claire’s lesbian subsubplot. Which ended in the lamest possible way this week. OK, I take that back. It could have been worse: Gretchen could have died, or Claire could have said, “I really love you but can’t have sex so even though I want to be your lovemuncher I am going to pull a Twilight on your ass.” Instead, we’re supposed to believe that the formerly brave and intrepid Gretchen has decided to drop out of college and go home just because of one teeny attack from the invisible girl. Seriously? She’s been total Scary Google Chick with Brave Lesbo Feelings up to now, but when the going gets weird she’s weirded out? I call shenanigans.

Metro Weekly nicely went ahead and transcribed the bullshit, so you don’t have to actually watch the video.

From some fool who says she is a doctor:

”The immediate action of passing the same-sex marriage bill, 18 40 82, is to normalize predominantly homosexual activity such as anal sex and require the promotion in the schools as a legal, normal activity and part of the sex education…. Who will protect the children? There are more HIV infections among young black men who have sex with men, aged 13-29, than among any other age group…. I am aware that students are terrified to be taken out of sex ed. They get on their knees and beg to their parents to be included. Because, to be outside is to be labeled the conservative. To go to the library while everyone else is in class having sex ed, means that you then —. When you refuse to go to sex ed, you then become the group that is discriminated against…. The anus was designed for exit, not entrance…. [Lesbian marriages] are not my argument.”

We hold these truths to be self-evident:

  • Anal sex makes you a fag
  • Going to sex ed means you will be a fag because you learn about anal sex
  • Not going to sex ed makes you uncool cuz you won’t be a fag like all your friends.
  • Lesbians are they ok cuz they don’t have anal sex.

I hope we’ve all learned some important lessons here.
